About Me

After studying Biology at University, specialising in Human Behaviour and Nutrition, I went on to follow a completely different path in my professional life to become a computer software specialist. I worked for many years in customer support and training.

Outside of the office, I was able to merge my interests in health and computers by turning into a cyberchondriac (internet-fuelled hypochondriac). This obsession with my own health combined with some difficult external circumstances eventually led me to becoming depressed.

I tried a variety of therapies, including traditional psychotherapy, but these seemed to just stretch out endlessly and make me even more depressed. Finally, in an effort to at least get a decent night's sleep, I tried self-hypnosis. To my surprise this made a significant difference.

After much internet research, I discovered the Uncommon Knowledge website and was blown away by the quality and variety of their self-hypnosis mp3 downloads. I followed their on-line Depression Self Help Program and gradually everything started to fall into place.

I later enrolled on their hypnotherapy and psychotherapy course which is firmly routed in solution-based methods, and qualified with a DIPLOMA in Brief Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.

Since then, I have successfully helped people overcome, amongst other things, their addictions, weight issues, phobias, low self-esteem, performance anxieties, panic attacks and depression. My faith in this method is strengthened by my clients' immediate responses regarding the speed with which they notice change occuring.

I have continued to research into and learn new techniques both for my own interest and satisfaction and for the Continued Professional Development (CPD) requirements of the professional bodies of which I am a member. Since my orginal qualification I have attended courses (some resulting in Diplomas) in CBT, NLP, Mindfulness, HypnotensionTM , and Hypnosis for Childbirth  (easibirthing®).

I am a member of the organisations depicted below and I am fully insured.
